Movie: Jumper

movies March 24th, 2008

Although the idea sounded nice (a dude with the ability to teleport or “jump” anywhere he’s either been before or has seen in person), the actual movie was a bit of a bomb.

You’d think they’d throw in some sort of idea or explanation on the how and why of the jumping, but no. You’d think Samuel L. Jackson (normally Mr. Cool himself) couldn’t play a bland and predictable character to save his life, but apparently he can. You’d think the story might go deeper than the trailer, but alas.
The FX are kinda cool here and there, but not surprising or fresh at all. There are about 3 “ha ha” moments, and that’s it.

I give it a 2 out of 5. It could have been so much more.
